National Women’s Health Week and Check Up Day

You can now join the many organizations participating in the 2006 National Women’s Health Week Celebration, May 14-20. Anyone, from individuals to corporations to entire states, can participate in National Women’s Health Week.

Kick off the week by taking part in the nation’s largest preventive care check-up event! National Women’s Check-Up Day is on Monday, May 15, 2006. Community health centers, hospitals, and other health care providers across America will participate in this event by offering preventive health screenings to women.

Starting in March 2006, you can register your event online. You will also be able to find the events taking place your area during that time. So start planning your event now so you can participate next year!

Sister-to-Sister Heart Health Fair
On Friday, February 17th, many women will participate in 14 interactive health fairs around the country at the Sister-to-Sister Women’s Heart Health Day. Many of the women will receive heart disease screenings and about half will learn they are at risk for heart disease. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health will be exhibiting at many of these events this year. Read more to find one in a city near you.
