Isolagen Modifies Ongoing Clinical Program For Acne Scars

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

FDA has provided follow-up on the Phase III program investigating Isolagen’s Therapy for the treatment of moderate to severe acne scars. The FDA reiterated that there are no safety issues that would prevent the initiation of the proposed studies.

However, the FDA asked the Company to further clarify certain protocol issues and raised questions related to the acne scar Evaluator Assessment Scale and Photo Guide. The FDA recommended that in order to address these issues, the Company should conduct a Phase II study; therefore, the Company will propose modifying the ongoing Phase III Study IT- A-008 as a Phase II/III study (as discussed further below). The FDA requests are specific to the acne scar clinical program and do not impact the Company’s ongoing, pivotal Phase III clinical program evaluating the Isolagen Therapy for the treatment of nasolabial folds, or wrinkles.

Tips for Better Meditation

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

1. Prepare your body for meditation

Your physical condition has a tremendous influence on your mind. This is true for your day to day activity, but even more so when it comes to meditation. You can prepare your body for meditation by eating the right food, and by coming to meditation with an empty stomach. Eating the right food, means food which strengthens the body but doesn’t have any adverse affect on the mind. If you consume products that make the mind dull or over-stimulated then it will be much harder to meditate. And whatever your diet is, when you sit down to meditate, it should be on an empty stomach. That is why one of the best times to meditate is in the morning, before you have had your breakfast. Another good time is in the evening, before the evening meal.

Exfoliation, Extractions and Excoriation

by Skincare-news.com team
If the words, “exfoliation,” “extractions,” and “excoriation” sound painful to you, you’re not alone. To the average person, these words sound like a world of hurt. In the beauty industry, these words are important to know, especially before having a professional treatment whether it is waxing, a makeover, or microdermabrasion. So, let’s delve into the beauty jargon.

Exfoliation – a cosmetic technique aimed at removing dead skin cells from the face and body.

Unknown to the human eye, there are three major layers of skin, each affecting the other. When we take a shower or wash our faces, we are cleaning the epidermis, or the outermost layer. The epidermis is where congestion and discoloration are obvious and where blemishes love to flourish. Without proper removal of compacted dead skin cells, pores get clogged and are prone to developing ingrown hairs after waxing and shaving.
