A Skin Care Must: Resolve to Remove Your Makeup Every Night!

Looking for a New Year’s Resolution? Well try this one on for size. Wash off that make-up every night before bed! Surveys show that an alarming percentage of women do not cleanse their face at night.
Removing your make-up at night not only prevents your skin from blemishes and clogged, black pores, it’s also important in maintaining health. According to WomensHealth.gov, leaving eye make-up on while you sleep can result in redness, irritation and infection of the eyes.
A surprising 40% of women surveyed said they don’t always remember to wash the makeup off their faces at night and a small but still alarming 12% of women surveyed say they were under the false impression that it wasn’t necessary to wash off their makeup at night since it came off during the day, according to Numarklabs.com
Expert facialist, Vaishaly Patel, states that “poor cleansing is the worst thing you can do to your skin. Going to bed in full make-up will result in blocked pores, spots and blackheads.”
We all know that a good skincare regimen involves dedication. So you must cleanse your face (unless otherwise directed) twice daily for a healthy, beautiful and clarified complexion. Smart Beauty Tips says to “always remove make-up before going to bed! There’s no point wasting money on trying to cover up flaws when you’ve probably caused them by leaving old make-up on. It leads to dull lifeless skin and causes spots!”
So from 2007 on, let’s add “cleansing our face before bed” with our typical resolutions, such as, “I’m going to lose weight this year,” however, let’s REALLY do this one!
