Brain Signals Explains Why The Obese Eat More

A new study published in the journal Science has revealed that brain signals may explain why obese people eat so much food.

What the study found was that people who are obese do not get as much satisfaction from food.

This means that in order to feel full, they have to consume more food, which leads to their obesity.

The study was carried out with 43 female college students who were between the ages of 18 and 22.

They also conducted the study with a group of teens aged 14 to 18.

They used an MRI brain scanner to watch the females as they consumed either a chocolate milk shake, or a drink which had no taste.

What they found was that the chocolate milkshake triggered activity in the dorsal striatum, which is full of dopamine receptors.

What they also found though was that obese people had fewer dopamine receptors, which meant less activity from the chocolate drink.

This explains that the obese actually do not like food as much as skinny people.

They only eat more because of the lack of dopamine receptors.
