Why Music Makes You Drink?

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Yet another reason to skip karaoke: Loud music makes you drink more—and faster, reports a study in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research.

Beer drinkers who sipped in quieter bars ordered an average of 2.6 brews during a one-hour stay.

Those who imbibed in pubs where the music volume forced them to shout ordered an average of 3.4 beers in the same amount of time and chugged each one 21 percent faster.
